This whimsically handmade Unicorn dream catcher is made using a natural cane and woven with a long-lasting wax-covered thread. Wrapped and braided using traditional techniques by Nepalese artisans, they are often decorated with beads, crystals, and stones.

The Story Behind the Art: Dream Catchers are often referred to as Sacred Hoops. The original Dream Catcher can be traced back to the Ojibwe Native American Tribe, where they were originally used as talismans to protect sleepers of all ages from bad dreams.
Traditionally shaped as a circle, it is believed that the shape represented the circle of life and the travels of the sun and moon across the sky. Woven like a spider web, dream catchers are meant to capture bad dreams during the night and hold them there until the sun of the morning can burn them away. The strands that hang below are traditionally meant to take the good dreams and gently carry them down to the peaceful sleeper.

dZi Inc. ha estado trabajando con artesanos de la comunidad tibetana exiliada en la India desde 1990, y con artesanos nepalÃes involucrados en artesanÃas de estilo tradicional tibetano desde 1995. Sus productos se comercializan como parte de la lÃnea 'Tibet Collection' de dZi.
Auténticas banderas de oración de tela impresas en bloques de madera tallados a mano están fabricadas especialmente para dZi por el Movimiento Gu-Chu-Sum (9-10-3) del TÃbet, establecido en 1991 y con sede en Dharamsala, India. Gu-Chu-Sum fue organizado por primera vez por ex prisioneros polÃticos del movimiento por la libertad tibetano; monjes, monjas y laicos que habÃan escapado del TÃbet debido a la persecución polÃtica. Su propósito es brindar empleo y apoyo a los refugiados tibetanos que necesitan ayuda en la India y educar sobre los abusos de los derechos humanos en el TÃbet.
